Internet Web Servers and HTML Essay Example for Free

Internet Web Servers and HTML Essay In order to create a web page, a host must be first be found, or created. The Internet host is a site where the web page becomes available for view by users on the world wide web. While web pages can be hosted by an individual, most people prefer to use a host site as a service provider to do so for them. An Internet host provider does everything needed to make a web site available to others. The host provider will usually charge a fee for their services, although in some cases it is free. Most host providers can also sell a domain name (for instance www. johndoe. com). They will provide space on their server for web pages and may provide an interface control panel for installing scripts, which eases users’ accessibility to the site (such as providing a link for Email communication). After the Internet host provider has been selected, it is then up to the owner of the web site to provide the pages that will appear on the Internet. This is done by creating HTML (hyper text markup protocol) pages that are transferred to the server via FTP (file transfer protocol). An easy way to create web pages for a site is to use a software editor such as Microsoft’s Front Page. Front Page is available as part of the Microsoft Office Suite and can integrate documents from Word or spreadsheets from Excel into the web page. Front Page is user friendly; the software lets users input the text and pictures they want on a web site page as if they were using a word processing program (i. e. , there are buttons to make letters bold, italic, colored, etc. ) instead of having to insert the correct HTML code (which translates the look and placement of items on the Internet). Front Page then takes the information and converts it to HTML language. Once the pages are complete, Front Page will transfer the pages to the Internet host provider where they will be stored, using the account name and password via FTP. Once the pages have been uploaded to the web site, it is then visible and accessible to any user of the world wide web. References â€Å"Hosting Your Web Site†. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), also known as Corporate Responsibility, and Corporate Citizenship :: Corporate Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), also known as Corporate Responsibility, and Corporate Citizenship Because society is fundamentally based upon performance and profit, it is necessary to impart a sense of corporate social responsibility with regard to modern commerce. The ethical approaches of purpose, principle and consequence are integral components of business social performance; itemizing these contributions involves incorporating the interests of ethics and morality within the corporate structure. These are essential concepts that are often absent from a managerial standpoint. Corporate social responsibility should exist within every company's infrastructure; however, social integrity is not something that is often at the forefront of modern day business dealings. Ethics, business and society must work in tandem or there is no purpose for any of its existence. Unethical practices are what create a climate of contempt and distrust, leading to consumers harboring ill will. This is no way to run a business Ethics are a necessary and critical ingredient in any successful enterprise1. Establishing such ethical fortitude is not difficult if a moral and conscientious outlook is maintaned . Ethical concerns run rampant among various entities, posing questions along the way as to whether a particular practice is deemed morally acceptable. Ethics sometimes get in the way of resolving questions like: What is the ethical concern? Am I being true to myself? Why is this bothering me? Is it my problem? What do others think? Who else matters? 2 Establishing reasonable ethical guidelines, and therefore appropriate corporate social responsibility, must come from a management perspective. This the primary location where policy is derived. Utilizing the insightful perspectives of Beauchamp et al (1996), which include purpose, principle and consequence, there exist myriad ethical considerations in the daily world of business, with each one presenting yet another moral dilemma: Should the decision be made for company or personal gain? How many will reap the benefit of individualized attention at the expense of all others? Is there a time when an individual's interests supercede those of the masses? These are ethical questions posed each and everyday throughout the global business and social worlds; whether or not the right answers are acted upon is another matter entirely. "Ethical problems of personal and public decision making are not new. The need to undertake ethical reflection is part--indeed a central part--of what it means to be human" (Mitcham, 1996, p. 314). Ethical decision-making goes hand in hand with sound business judgment, yet this is not a concept always followed. The very purpose behind ethical behavior has some people stumped as to its true intention; while some believe it instills the foundation of good business, others contend that it brings out nothing

American Vegetarianism How It Became a Subculture?

How it became a subculture? American vegetarianism has existed for more than 200 years and the American Vegan Society was founded February 1960, in Malaga New Jersey. Throughout recorded history there have been individuals and groups teaching the complete non-use of animal-source food and clothing. The practice of this lifestyle achieved varying degrees of success, and some failures. Veganism was defined and the first Vegan Society formed in 1944 in England. This society was to become the inspiration for others to follow. In the U. S. , Dr. Catherine Nimmo and Rubin Abramowitz formed a Vegan Society in California (1948 to 1960). When H. Jay Dinshah founded the American Vegan Society (1960), it became a dynamic force spreading the vegan message at a propitious time in world history. Highlights of the American Vegan Society's early activities were: a Coast to Coast Crusade across the U. S. and into Canada 1961, North Atlantic Lecture Tour (Iceland, Britain, Europe) 1965, Round the World Lecture Tour 1967 and 1968. The society's magazine was published under the title Ahimsa 1960 to 2000. In 2001 the name was changed to American Vegan and is quarterly. American Vegan Society Annual Conventions have been held in New Jersey and other states, including New York, Colorado, California, Oregon, and Washington. In 1995 American Vegan Society hosted the 8th International Vegan Festival in San Diego California. Local and regional vegetarian societies have shared responsibilities for some of these events. These conventions have provided a valuable forum. Since 1989 videos of convention proceedings have taken the vegan message into living rooms across the USA, and a few years later, around the world. Since 1969 American Vegan Society has held educational programs, including cooking classes, at its Malaga New Jersey headquarters. The present day vegan community in the U. S. involves many individuals and organizations. Besides the American Vegan Society, there are Gentle World, Vegan Outreach, Vegan Action, and vegan. com. A vegan diet is promoted by other organizations such as Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, the National Health Association and Institute for Plant Based Nutrition. Increasingly, animal rights organizations, anti-vivisection societies, and farm animal reform and rescue groups have advocated the compassionate vegan lifestyle. Vegetarian Resource Group has provided an abundance of vegan information since the mid 1980s. Of strategic importance were health studies done on vegans in England, and in the U. S. on vegans within the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and at The Farm, Summertown Tennessee. They proved the adequacy and advantages of the diet that, combined with growth of nutritional knowledge, helped others to avoid potential pitfalls. Very helpful also were the experiences of U. S. followers of Dr. Herbert M. Shelton and others in their rediscovery of ancient truths about human health. A history of veganism would not be complete without commenting on the health food stores (many run by Seventh Day Adventists) that have sustained vegans with foods outside the mainstream through the years. There is also an increasing number of food products now available that have added the convenience factor needed to persuade increasing numbers of people to go vegan.

My family attended the production of Young Frankenstein, a theatrical performance produced by the Beaumont Community Players in Beaumont, Texas. This theatrical piece was chosen as a critique because the childrens best friend performed in Young Frankenstein. It was an unusual and interesting performance, but this was performed very well by the cast. Young Frankenstein is a theatrical musical based on the Frederick Frankenstein and he is ashamed to be a Frankenstein, insisting that his name to be pronounced Frankenstein and that he is not a madman but, rather, a scientist. He then lectures his students about the greatest mind of science (The Brain). After learning that he has inherited his grandfathers castle in Transylvania, he is forced to resolve the issue of the property. As Elizabeth Benning, Fredericks fiance, sees him off, it is clear that their relationship is far from physical as Elizabeth enumerates all the lustful situations from which she is abstaining (Please Dont Touch Me). Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Beaumont Community Players Production of Young Frankenstein" essay for you Create order The set design is extremely effective, and the black cut out background suggests turrets and a lighted outline added another layer. The sky, with stars and moon, is lovely in its simplicity. Lots of lightening adds to the shows gloomy atmospheric feel. From the contemporary but cartoony set to the black-and-white color scheme that encompasses everything. This musical takes a lot of material directly from the movie, and a lot of the humor is sophomoric, but it is deftly delivered. It was one of the best shows ever seen, so funny, the place was screeching with laughter. The cast was fantastic, especially Igor, and the blind hermit, though the housekeeper, the monster, young Frankenstein and his fiance were also brilliant. The family enjoyed it so much, it was so funny, any individual will want a good laugh than this is the show for them to watch, it will be a great evening! The overall rating on the set design was actually pretty good very small mistakes but not noticeable unless an individual is there to critique it. The cast size was around twenty-five people and the costumes were amazing. The family enjoyed how every individual costume was unique, but Elizabeths red dress was very classy and sexy. The other individuals in the play had a mixture of a German Austrian attire, scientific lab coats, and the cool monster costume that was also a hit. Another cast member that stood out was Inga the lab assistant that wore a very sexy and seductive fitted lab coat and dress that could remind an individual of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz which was very cute. The actors during this performance were hilarious from the start, great singing, dancing and the sets were great. Particularly enjoyed the dancing where the lights flashed, and the dancers were in the air at the moment of the flash. The cast performance was fantastic, especially Igor, and the blind hermit, though the housekeeper, the monster, Young Frankenstein and his fiance were also brilliant. What a great way to adapt the old classic movie. Every bit is enjoyable, great talented artists and excellent transition into musical format. If any individual liked the movie, then do not miss this show. Young Frankenstein was an amazing theatrical show that lasted about 2Â   hours to watch, they family honestly enjoyed every bit of it. The family wasnt sure of the outcome on how it was going to turn out because not knowing much about it and have not seeing the film, but they were pleasantly surprised. The acting was great, the songs were great and the whole show was really funny. Upon leaving my family asked when they could go back to watch it again and indeed, they sure did, the family watched it twice.
